MARIACHI NUEVO VIAJERO

Our Story

Rooted in Tradition. Alive in Every Note.

Mariachi Nuevo Viajero was founded in January 2019 by husband-and-wife Jesus and Maria Rivera. What began as a family ensemble of five violinists, a guitarist, and a harpist grew from a dream of creating Corpus Christi’s first family-owned mariachi. With family and tradition at the heart of everything we do, we began welcoming talented musicians from throughout the Coastal Bend. Today, Mariachi Nuevo Viajero is 14 members strong and proudly stands as one of the largest traditional mariachis in the Coastal Bend. Our mission goes beyond performing. We believe in encouraging young musicians, preserving the tradition of mariachi, and giving back to the community that has supported us. Over the years, we have donated our time and talents to nonprofit organizations, youth and educational programs, cancer awareness organizations, and many other community events. For us, mariachi is more than music—it is family, culture, tradition, and community. What is life without music and family to share it with? ¡Que Viva el Mariachi! 🇲🇽🎻

Based in Corpus Christi, TX, our musicians carry decades of tradition in every performance — from intimate serenades to grand festival stages.
